AAIP Entrepreneur EOI and Business Application Checklist

An EOI is not a Business Application. EOI documents define the proposal and claimed points. Only candidates requested by AAIP can access and submit a Business Application, which must prove those claims using the live stream checklist and request email.

Two document stages

AAIP scores and ranks the EOI. Only a candidate requested to submit a Business Application can access that next stage, where a draft is created from the EOI. An EOI does not guarantee a request, and a complete application is not a guarantee of nomination.

Graduate Entrepreneur EOI

At EOI, Graduate Entrepreneur uses a Business Proposal Summary and a Net Worth Worksheet when investing in the proposed business, plus representative and family authorization forms when applicable.

Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur EOI

At EOI, Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur includes a business plan, pitch deck, Letter of Recommendation from a Designated Agency, Net Worth Worksheet, and applicable representative or family authorization forms.

Rural Entrepreneur EOI

At EOI, Rural Entrepreneur includes a Business Proposal Summary, Net Worth Worksheet, Community Support Letter, and applicable representative or family authorization forms. Community endorsement comes before submission.

Graduate Business Application reports

The Graduate Business Application includes a complete business plan based on the EOI proposal summary and a Business Plan Evaluation Report. A Qualified Service Provider Report is included only if requested by AAIP. The same copy of the business plan used for evaluation must go to AAIP.

Foreign Graduate Business Application reports

The Foreign Graduate Business Application includes a Business Plan Evaluation Report completed through a Designated Agency. A Qualified Service Provider Report assessing net worth and investment applies when the request email requires it.

Rural Business Application reports

The Rural Business Application includes the Exploratory Visit Report, a complete business plan based on the EOI summary, the Business Plan Evaluation Report, and a Qualified Service Provider Report that assesses net worth and business investment.

Shared evidence categories

The live checklists may require identity, immigration status, language, education, business or management experience, applicable licensing, ownership or financial evidence, business records, family or adaptability claims, translations, and applicable representative or dependant forms. This overview is not a personal filing checklist.

Keep the record consistent

The Business Application draft is created from the EOI, then must be updated, current, complete, and support the claimed points. A discrepancy or missing document may cause the application to be declined. AAIP will not let a candidate change or rewrite the EOI after the request to submit a Business Application.

Deadline and translation boundary

The current three how-to pages say to submit the complete package within 90 days of the request email. Verify the live page and your current request email because instructions can change. Documents not in English or French need the translation package specified by the current checklist.

TCF Canada and Farm Stream

In speaking/listening/reading/writing order: Graduate NCLC 7 requires speaking 10, listening 458, reading 453, writing 10; Foreign Graduate NCLC 5 requires speaking 6, listening 369, reading 375, writing 6; Rural NCLC 4 requires speaking 4, listening 331, reading 342, writing 4. Results must be less than two years old at EOI. Farm Stream uses a separate paper application and checklist outside this three-stream online EOI guide. This is not legal advice or immigration advice.

Frequently asked questions

Are EOI documents the complete Business Application?
No. The EOI is for scoring and ranking; only a candidate requested by AAIP can access the Business Application stage.
Do all three Entrepreneur streams use the same EOI documents?
No. Graduate uses a proposal summary, Foreign Graduate uses a plan, pitch and recommendation, and Rural uses a proposal summary plus community support.
Are both provider reports always required?
The plan evaluation report is part of the requested stage. The net-worth and investment report depends on the stream and, for some candidates, the AAIP request.
Can I change my claimed EOI points after the request?
No. The Business Application must support the EOI claims while updating information that must be current.
What if a document is not in English or French?
Use the original-and-translation package required by the current stream checklist rather than relying on this overview.
Must I include my TCF result again?
Language evidence must support the EOI, meet the stream's NCLC minimum, and have been less than two years old at EOI.
