How many correct answers do I need for NCLC 7?
There is no fixed number of correct answers that guarantees an official NCLC level. France Éducation international uses the psychometric difficulty of each listening and reading question to transform correct answers into a 100–699 score. Only correct answers count; wrong or blank answers receive zero. Use the score on your official result statement, not a practice percentage, for the IRCC conversion.
This converter uses locally stored, versioned IRCC TCF Canada thresholds. Scores below NCLC 4 remain explicitly “<4”, never NCLC 4 or 0.

How TCF Canada maps to NCLC
For French results, IRCC uses NCLC; CLB is the English-language scale. This tool assesses listening, reading, writing, and speaking separately with published raw-score ranges and does not replace an official result.
NCLC 7 and NCLC 9 are common planning targets, but immigration programs do not all use the same threshold. Check the complete, current conditions of the intended program when applying or reviewing a round.
