French additional points and category eligibility

With NCLC 7 in all four French skills, an applicant receives 25 points when English is not supplied or is no higher than CLB 4 in all skills, and 50 points when all four English skills are at least CLB 5. The French-language category also requires NCLC 7 in all four French skills.

Check the official rules before setting your TCF target

These summaries cover public conditions directly connected to French results. They identify what to check next and do not replace full eligibility, round instructions, or an individual application assessment.

CRS and French additional points

A valid job offer no longer directly adds 50 or 200 CRS points. Once all French abilities reach NCLC 7, the 25 or 50 French additional points still depend on English results; a score never guarantees an invitation.
