TCF Canada Result Validity and Retake Wait Time
For Express Entry, TCF Canada results must be less than two years old when you create your profile and when you submit a permanent-residence application. If you need to retake the test, France Éducation international requires at least 20 days between two sittings of the same TCF Canada. Put your test date, result-expiry date, and intended application date on one timeline instead of looking only at the invitation date.
How the two-year rule works
IRCC requires results that are less than two years old when you complete an Express Entry profile and when you submit the permanent-residence application. Do not treat the rule as an invitation-date check only: a result that expires after an invitation but before submission can affect the application.
When to consider a retake
If results will expire before the planned submission, IRCC says you should be tested again, apply before expiry, or decline the invitation and return to the pool. The appropriate option depends on the program, timing, and your file; this page is not legal advice.
