AAIP Entrepreneur reconsideration after decline

A request must be directly related to the decision-letter reasons and show an error in applying program criteria or assessment. Send it within 30 calendar days of the decision-letter date; it is not a route for new evidence, exemptions, or an IRCC permanent-residence appeal.

What reconsideration is for

A reconsideration request must be directly related to the reasons in the decision letter and demonstrate an error in applying program criteria or assessment. It is a review of the decision already made, not a second application or a general request for sympathy.

Deadline and one-request limit

Submit within 30 calendar days of the date on the decision letter. Only one request per application or decline decision is allowed, so identify the decision, the precise error, and the relevant criteria before sending anything.

What the request cannot do

It cannot ask for an exemption or exception, submit new evidence or a new document, restate or repeat evidence, express that you are unsatisfied or unhappy, or seek Humanitarian and Compassionate (H&C) consideration. A request that only disagrees with the outcome is not the published standard.

Which entrepreneur decision

For Graduate Entrepreneur, Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur and Rural Entrepreneur, a Business Application or Final Report for Nomination that is declined can be considered in an AAIP reconsideration review. Use the decision letter and the stream page that governed that application.

Four streams are not interchangeable

Graduate Entrepreneur, Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur, Rural Entrepreneur and Farm Stream have separate criteria and instructions. Farm Stream uses a separate paper or mail application path, so do not copy a portal or evidence process from another stream.

Review and outcome

If the request is eligible, an AAIP officer or reviewer not involved in the original decision may review it. There is no guarantee that the application will be reassessed or that the result will change. AAIP communicates the outcome under its current process.

Reapply when reconsideration is unavailable

If the request is not eligible, read the current stream criteria and consider a new application only when you independently meet the latest eligibility requirements. A new application is separate from reconsideration and does not revive the declined file.

AAIP is not IRCC

AAIP reconsideration is not an IRCC appeal and cannot challenge a federal permanent residence decision. IRCC controls the federal permanent residence process. This site does not accept or collect personal or business documents or uploads. This is not legal advice or immigration advice.
