Using TCF Canada for Alberta Rural Renewal Stream
Alberta Rural Renewal Stream accepts TCF Canada. A TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 job offer requires NCLC 5 in all four French abilities; TEER 4 or 5 requires NCLC 4 in all four French abilities. You also need an eligible full-time offer and community endorsement.
The job offer's TEER sets the language level
TEER 0 through 3 requires NCLC 5 in all four French abilities. TEER 4 or 5 requires NCLC 4 in all four French abilities. Each ability must meet its own threshold.
Exact TCF Canada minimum scores
For NCLC 5, the minimums are speaking 6, listening 369, reading 375, and writing 6. For NCLC 4, they are speaking 4, listening 331, reading 342, and writing 4. The official result must be less than 2 years old when you apply.
Designated-community offer and endorsement
You need an eligible full-time job offer in a Designated Community and an Endorsement of Candidate letter. The endorsement is valid for one year. Part-time, casual, seasonal, contractor, home-based, or work physically performed outside Alberta is not eligible.
Where you reside limits eligible TEER levels
Candidates in Alberta with a valid work permit can consider most eligible TEER 0 through 5 jobs. Candidates who reside outside Alberta, whether elsewhere in Canada or abroad, may apply only with a TEER 0 through 3 job offer.
Work experience and the PGWP exception
The general rule is 12 months of eligible full-time experience in the last 18 months, counted at a minimum of 30 hours per week, with the required TEER compatibility. An eligible Post-Graduation Work Permit holder who completed a full-time 2-year post-secondary program at a DLI in the designated community may be exempt from the 12-month experience requirement.
Education and settlement funds
You generally need at least Canadian high school or its equivalent. Your highest foreign credential normally needs an Educational Credential Assessment (ECA). Settlement funds are generally required if you are not residing in Canada, or if you are in Canada but are not working; use Alberta's current table for the amount.
Endorsement comes before Worker EOI
The community first endorses the candidate, who then submits a Worker Expression of Interest, or Worker EOI. You must hold the endorsement at the time of the Worker EOI to qualify for selection points. Meeting the language threshold or receiving endorsement does not guarantee an invitation, nomination, or permanent residence.
