Express Entry French-Language Category: NCLC 7 Requirement
To meet the language condition for Express Entry's French-language proficiency category, all four French abilities must reach NCLC 7. That condition alone does not guarantee an invitation: you must also qualify for an Express Entry program and meet the instructions for the round.
NCLC 7 in all four abilities
IRCC assesses the four language abilities separately. Any ability below NCLC 7 does not meet the French-language condition; use the TCF Canada converter first to identify the lowest result.
Beyond the language condition
Category-based rounds are for candidates already in the Express Entry pool. You must also qualify for the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, or Canadian Experience Class, and meet the complete round instructions.
Score and invitation
Candidates eligible for a category are still ranked by CRS. Minimum scores, round dates, and other conditions can change; this result is not an invitation promise or a legal assessment of an individual case.
